Ticks appear to be a problem in different areas of the county at different times of
spring/summer. We recommend putting a collar on your dog as soon as we see the first
tick (typically in mid-April), and the collar may last for the whole season. For outdoor dogs, where ticks
are more likely to be a continuous problem, a new collar is recommended mid-summer.
Keeping your pet out of tall grasses and woods will also help to keep the number of ticks
on your dog down. Ticks are rarely a problem on cats.
If flea protection is needed as well as tick control, we often recommend us
of Preventic with Advantage.
